Grand Traverse Pie Company

Yes, Grand Traverse is a pie company. But, it is also a coffee shop. And a darn good coffee shop.
My husband and I stumbled on this cafe on a trip from Indianapolis to points west. It’s near the downtown area of Terre Haute and the ISU campus. The last time we visited (Labor Day) downtown was dead but this place was hoppin’.
Writers will find everything they need here. Plenty of caffeine (be sure to try the cherry coffee, even if you usually stay away from flavored varieties). Pies in many flavors including main dish pie in addition to desserts. Salads, soups, and sandwiches, too. Oh yes, they do have WiFi.
In the mystery novel I just completed (Maiden Murders), the Cherry Tree Cafe mentioned in the first part of the novel was inspired by the Grand Traverse Pie Company. The north part of the Grand Traverse’s parking lot abuts Cherry Street.
If you are in Terre Haute – make it a point to stop by. You won’t be sorry.
